This is a project of an apparel shop with a small café space, which is located 12 minutes away from JR Kamakura station.
The target persona is 29-year-old woman working for an IT company. The brand concept is “Enjoy your shirt in your own way. The shirt brightens up the scene”. The style of their shirts are American traditional shirt but made in Japan.
Disposable materials are often used for interior in modern age, but we tried to use recyclable and eco-friendly materials as much as possible.
We have used Hinoki wood chips for the floor, which are from the Hinoki trees that were used for making the building. The aroma of Hinoki wood chips softens and relax customers’ tensions once they enter the shop. For the wall behind the kitchen, we have reused the pieces of clay pots that are made by local craft men.
More and more brands are being aware of their impacts on the natural environment and caring about it these days. We aimed to make an eco- friendly interior for their flagship shop.
The beautiful nature in Kamakura naturally led us to care about environment, and we have tried making the inside and outside of the shop connect to each other.
We hope this shop will be a place for people to meet new people.
