In Hayama, we planned to build a housing complex that restored a 100 year-old private house. This is the fourth store following ‘yoridocoro’ (Kamakura), ‘Renbai Ichiba’ (Hayama) and ‘Minato no Hikari’ (Manase).
The name of the restaurant, “soso ~ HAYAMA” is a way of expressing the meaning of “Soto” which is clear and beautiful. Life in Hayama naturally removes unnecessary things and becomes simple. Carefully choose what is truly important to you. This is a place where you can embody such a refined and beautiful way of life and aim for a kind place where you can be close to the people who are working hard in Hayama.
There’s a lot you can learn by demolishing an old house, and it’s important to prioritize your projects. This time, the large garden of about 90 tsubo is an open space that visitors can use casually, and the whole garden is a space like a park with a lawn. The space was designed as a daily communication spot where local Hayama residents could relax with their families and pets and face themselves.
This garden and building is also used as a wedding hall. We plan to propose a wedding ceremony with a small number of people so that you can feel close to Hayama, which is rich in nature.
The facade will utilize as much existing wood as possible, and through the painstaking process of polishing and painting, will bring to life a building that will play a new symbolic role in Hayama.
in the hope of being a place “Like Hayama, like me.”
