Located in the quiet town of Higashi Zushi, “Mame to Hitobito” is a coffee stand that offers a “small rewarding time” where you can breathe again in your busy day. Whether you want to take a breather on your way home after sending off your children in the morning, or you want to regroup on your way home in the evening, this carefully brewed cup will gently shape the outline of your heart, closely following the rhythm of your daily life. We want to be a place that gently envelops the small spaces of everyday life with fragrance and warmth.
We designed the space around “materials and tranquility ” in order to realize these thoughts. The warmth of solid wood, the mortar floor that softly returns the light, and the brass lighting that deepens with time. All of them are not decorative, but the expression of the material itself breathes calmly and calms the feelings of the visitors. When you touch the soft wooden counter, the natural temperature remains on your fingertips, and the contrast with the mortar, which retains the temperature behind the cold, creates a soft rhythm throughout the store. The brass lighting changes its expression depending on the time of day, adding a faint fluctuation of light to the aroma of coffee, bringing a deep sense of peace to the space.
“It’s not special, but it makes me feel better.” The core of this store is the comfort of a natural body that fits into your life. Kindness rather than flashiness. A sense of unwinding rather than correctness. Mame and Hibi quietly affirms the drink you choose for yourself, not for someone else, and hopes to be like a small crossroads in the daily life of Higashi Zushi.
How little time you spend here makes today a little easier.
We hope that it will be a place where you can meet the “supreme coffee.”
